Terms of Service
The ground rules for using Tampa Bay Social Life, submitting content, joining Tampa Talk, and planning around local listings.
Plan confidently
Use listings, maps, saved plans, and recommendations as discovery tools, then confirm important details before you go.
Keep it local
Tampa Talk, submissions, and recommendations should stay useful, civil, and relevant to Tampa Bay.
Know the limits
Times, prices, availability, policies, alerts, and forecasts can change and may be incomplete.
By accessing or using Tampa Bay Social Life, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
01
Age requirement
Tampa Bay Social Life and Tampa Talk are for adults 18 years of age or older. By signing up, posting, replying, submitting a venue or event, joining a newsletter, or otherwise using the site, you represent that you are at least 18. If we learn that an account or submission belongs to someone under 18, we may remove the content and the associated email address from our records. If you believe a minor has used the site, please contact us using the address below.
02
Use of the website
Tampa Bay Social Life provides information and planning tools for events, music venues with live calendars, social sports, restaurants, bars, attractions, outdoor recreation (fishing + boating), local news, public-safety situational awareness, the Tampa Talk discussion boards, tastemaker picks, saved plans, submissions, newsletters, and partner opportunities. Content is provided for informational and discovery purposes only and may change at any time.
03
Confirm details before you go
We work to keep information useful and current, but event times, availability, pricing, age restrictions, ticketing, menus, business hours, and venue policies can change. Always confirm important details directly with the venue, organizer, ticketing provider, or business before making plans.
04
Submissions
If you submit events, venue details, tastemaker recommendations, livestream details, photos, videos, business information, Tampa Talk posts and replies, or other messages, you grant Tampa Bay Social Life a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to review, edit, display, distribute, and promote that content in connection with the site and related marketing. You confirm that you have the right to share anything you submit.
05
Tampa Talk community guidelines
Tampa Talk is a local discussion space. Use a real display name, keep conversation civil, and stay on topic for the board you picked. We review first-time posts before they appear publicly and may remove or recategorize threads, decline replies, ban users, or close threads at our discretion. Discussion content reflects the views of individual posters, not Tampa Bay Social Life.
Do not post personal information about others, harassment, threats, hate speech, sexual content, illegal activity, doxing, false claims about a business or venue, or repetitive promotional spam. When a thread is started from a specific event, restaurant, bar, or news story, please keep replies relevant to what you came in from.
06
Review and editorial discretion
We may approve, reject, edit, categorize, remove, or reorder submissions and listings at our discretion. We are not required to publish any submission, and publication does not mean we endorse a venue, event, business, creator, organizer, or offer.
07
Saved plans and recommendations
Saved items, planning features, filters, maps, and recommendations are provided as convenience tools. They are not guarantees of availability, quality, safety, suitability, or a particular experience.
08
Sponsored placements and partners
Some placements, partner cards, advertisements, or sponsored opportunities may be paid or promotional and will be labeled where appropriate. Sponsored placement does not guarantee any result, attendance, ranking, conversion, or performance.
09
Acceptable use
- Do not use the site for unlawful, misleading, harmful, or abusive purposes
- Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, overload, or compromise the service
- Do not submit false, deceptive, infringing, private, or harmful content
- Do not impersonate another person, venue, business, organizer, or creator
- Do not copy or reuse large portions of the site without permission
- Do not post in Tampa Talk to harass, threaten, defame, dox, or repeatedly spam other users
10
Third-party services and links
The site may link to maps, ticketing pages, social profiles, venue pages, organizer pages, payment providers, reservation tools, and other services we do not control. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and policies.
11
News content and publisher links
The News Radar highlights local headlines, short excerpts, and publisher links for quick discovery. We do not host or republish full articles. The way we group stories into lanes and the trending-topic labels we apply are our editorial interpretation, not the publisher's.
12
Public Safety map: for awareness only
The public-safety surface presents official Tampa, Pinellas, and weather alert information for at-a-glance situational awareness. It is not an authoritative source, not a real-time dispatch tool, and not a substitute for contacting emergency services. Locations, categorizations, and severities are best-effort interpretations and may be incomplete, delayed, or wrong. For active emergencies, call 911. For verified information, consult the originating agency directly.
13
Outdoor forecasts and recommendations
Fishing bite forecasts, tide labels, wind readings, boating routes, hotspot pins, bridge clearances, and reef coordinates are indicative trip-planning context only. They are not survey-grade tracks, not navigation charts, and not safety equipment. Tide and weather conditions change. Bridge clearances depend on the current water level and your vessel. Reef coordinates should be cross-checked against the relevant fish and wildlife agency. Always confirm against official charts, tide tables, current weather, and the relevant agency before heading out.
14
Music venue calendars
The music page highlights upcoming shows and venue calendar details for discovery. Show times, lineups, ticket availability, and prices can change at any time. Always confirm with the venue or ticketing partner before driving across town.
15
Liability and service changes
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Tampa Bay Social Life is not liable for damages resulting from use of the site, planning decisions, listing errors, event changes, cancellations, third-party services, venues, organizers, businesses, or user-submitted content. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the site at any time without notice.
16
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute relating to the site or these Terms will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Hillsborough County, Florida, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
17
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the latest version. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
